Hey guys. Quick post for you today – often when you work in an office, there are times during the day when you might want to chill out and just listen to some music or online radio while you work.
Another great thing you could be listening to are podcasts - they’re usually quite informal, can be rich with useful information and the best part is that it doesn’t require you to get distracted from what you’re doing like a video might.
Just listening to them I learn about 2-3 new things I may have known before about either JavaScript, jQuery or projects and tools that can make my development life easier.
Below you can find iTunes links to the five weekly podcasts that I’ve found helpful over the past few months. Some come in both audio and video versions so when subscribing be sure to subscribe to the version you’re most likely to use. I hope they help!
- The Official jQuery Podcast with Ralph Whitbeck, Rey Bango and other members of the jQuery team (http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-official-jquery-podcast/id339835419)
- YayQuery – another podcast from the jQuery team featuring Paul Irish, Alex Sexton and others (http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/yayquery/id340422555) [Video and Audio]
- jQuery for Designers – Remy Sharp (http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/jquery-for-designers-screencasts/id281057468)
- The NetTus+ Podcast – Covering many aspects of Web development including jQuery (http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/nettuts/id291173544)
- CSS Tricks with Chris Coyier – this is another great one for generic Web development tips and tricks including jQuery and WordPress (http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/css-tricks-screencasts/id273881728) [Video and Audio]
PS: I’m currently considering starting up my own podcast soon covering either jQuery news, JavaScript fundamentals or just generic tips and tricks. Still making up my mind, but stay tuned for more info on it : )
