My name is Adnan and I’m a Web developer that loves creating new things. I founded AddyOsmani.com after spending many years blogging on other my other sites and finally decided I needed a new home for my tutorials and other crazy musings online. I have a commitment to bringing new ideas to the internet and enjoy working with a diverse group of returning clients who’s finances make sure we’re not naked and homeless :)

I also enjoy blogging and writing tutorials on how Web Developers can improve their skills by looking as new or better ways of coding things that can help them with both their jobs and their personal projects. If you are ever interested in collaborating with me on one of my many Open-Source projects, please feel free to get in touch as it’s always good to have a little help!.

I’m lucky and thankful to have enjoyed some popularity online during the years. This began when I was 16 with a win of the Young Scientist of the Year competition in Ireland back in 2003 for developing a multi-threaded Web Browser extension to Internet Explorer (and then a separate Browser rendering engine which used the same) both of which received media attention including the likes of the Wall Street Journal, CNN and the BBC. Subsequently, I became one of the youngest people ever to have been approached by Microsoft for a position at their HQ but turned it down for further education opportunities instead. I with the help of legal firms Mintz Levin and A & L Goodbody also pursued patenting of the idea.

I’ve also been very interested in releasing free online components, launching Web businesses, taking part in competitions and writing over the years as I feel the best way for one to learn is to share their knowledge and stay creative. I have also appeared in .NET Magazine and Wired. Although I have run many blogs before, I have finally decided to make this my home online and hopefully with a little work I can build it into a community of like-minded developers who can discuss web development in their spare time.

I’ll be honest in saying that most of what I know I’ve obtained through self-learning – I think you can achieve anything if you put enough time and effort into it, but for anyone that’s interested in my credentials I have a Bachelors in Computer Science, A Masters in Computer Science by Research and several certifcates from Oxford University.

If you would like to hire me to work on one of your projects or guest-write a blog post, please feel free to get in touch using the contact form.
